Winter Camping Resources

There are a lot of resources (good information) in these links, however, they doesn't necessarily follow the "Boy Scouts of America" thoughts in every case.  Where the resources vary from the Boy Scouts of America, use the BSA way.  Otherwise, use your common sense and good judgment as to what to adopt for your Winter Camping (or activity).

ABOVE ALL, DON'T HESITATE TO GO WINTER CAMPING - JUST "BE PREPARED" AND ALWAYS "THINK SAFETY".

Here is the presentation that was given at the Patriots' Path Council 2006 University of Scouting:

WINTER CAMPING PRESENTATION - This could be used at a Troop meeting.

WINTER CAMPING SKILLS HANDOUT - This is what you should pass out to your Scouts about a month before you go winter camping.  That gives everyone a couple of meetings or more to discuss cold weather survival skills, and a chance to inform parents of the dangers of cold weather camping when one is not fully prepared.
