If you pick up or drop off your son by car, please park in the Trailside Nature and Science Center lot and check your child in or out with a uniformed Watchung staff member by the planetarium. For everyone’s safety, only buses are allowed into the camp area.

From Route 22
Museum
Going Eastbound:  Take the Glenside Avenue jughandle after Bowcraft in Scotch Plains.  You’ll go across Rt 22 and up Glenside Avenue (a large hill).  At the top of Glenside Avenue, you will reach a T-intersection with a stop sign.  Make a right onto Skytop Drive.  Skytop Drive will turn into Coles Ave.  Coles Avenue dead-ends into the Trailside Nature and Science Center Parking lot.

Going Westbound:  Take the New Providence Road Exit in Mountainside and make a right onto New Providence Road (you will pass the Mountainside Fire Department on your left).  You will reach a fork in the road with New Providence Road going right and Deer Path to the left. 

Take the left fork (Deer Path) which will take you up a hill.  Go past the orange and green sign that says “Watchung Reservation” and make a right onto Ackerman Avenue.

Ackerman Avenue is a steep hill. At the top of the hill, you will reach a T-intersection with a stop sign.  Make a right onto Coles Ave.  Coles Avenue dead-ends into the Trailside Nature and Science Center Parking lot.

From Route 78
Eastbound: Get off at Glenside Avenue  Exit 45. Make a right onto Glenside Avenue. Take the first left onto William Tracey Drive (Union County Route 645). Follow to the “Loop Playground”  Follow the road around to the right, passing a small brick building on your right. 

Take the first right off the circle into the woods to continue on William Tracey Drive.  Follow to the traffic circle; then take first right (Summit Lane, County Route 642) and follow signs to the Trailside Nature and Science Center. 

Summit Lane turns into New Providence Road at a slight right turn.  The Trailside Nature and Science Center Parking lot is on your right.
